Say hello to the
APEC Business Travel Card (
ABTC)! Here's what the APEC Business Travel Card does for you:
- Fast-track entry and exit at APEC lanes at participating APEC-nation airports;
- Multiple-entry visa for stays of 60 to 90 days each;
- No need to apply for visas each time you travel;
- The APEC Business Travel Card is your visa (in participating countries);
- Your APEC Business Travel Card is valid for 3 years.
- For APEC business travellers from countries other than Canada and the USA, Canada and the USA provide expedited lanes, but under existing Canadian or American immigration programs. (Canada and the USA are Transitional Members of the ABTC scheme, at the current time.)
- Canadian APEC Card holders must be NEXUS members as well and may use Trusted Traveller kiosks when they return to Canada.
Are you eligible?
To be eligible for the ABTC scheme, you must:
- Be a citizen of a participating APEC nation with a valid passport;
- Travel frequently for trade or investment purposes in the APEC region;
- Have not been convicted of a criminal offence;
- Each participating APEC nation may impose additional criteria. Check with your home country for details.
- Canadian applicants must be NEXUS members, before they apply for an ABTC. Your ABTC is valid for 3 years or until your NEXUS card and/or your Canadian passport expires.
- If your NEXUS membership is revoked, your ABTC will no longer be valid.
